Home again, home again

We're back! Not sure if I'm ready to blog about it, so I'll put up pictures instead.

Seeing the tapestries was really amazing - I wasn't prepared for how beautiful they would be in person. They glowed like jewels.

We went to Chartres - so beautiful. I'll post a video I took, they were having an organ fugue playing when we were there. And Ann, you were right, there's no competition, I enjoyed Chartres Cathedral much more than I would have Versailles.

Couldn't help myself - so Moulin Rouge.

This is the Cluny (below), where the tapestries are displayed.

  2. Love your pictures! Wow. Makes me want to go back. And I am glad you went to Chartres.

There's a nice little bas relief of the Holy Family right after Mary gives birth there. I asked our son (he was four at the time) who everyone was. He said the baby was Jesus, the lady was Mary and the man was the doctor.

    Glad you're home.
