Today marks 17 weeks. The baby is approximately the size of a turnip. Which brings to mind several questions: How many sizes of turnips are there? What do you actually do with a turnip? Besides soup recipes from the Eastern Block, what kinds of foods to turnips show up in? Is it a livestock vegetable? Are they purple, white or red? Isn't a turnip what Peter Rabbit was after in Beatrix Potter's first book? What does a turnip taste like? And who in the baby-size-naming world chose a turnip to demonstrate the size of a 17 week old fetus? Was it a livestock breeder from the Eastern Block?I guess you never know where it may 'turnip' :).
