I really did. I've been reading Simplicity Parenting by Kim Payne, and I took the section about toys to heart. The idea is to gather all the toys in the house in one big pile, then sort into four groups: 1. Broken toys or are missing parts go to the trash 2. Toys that aren't played with go to charity 3. Toys that your kids do play with, but they've lost interest go into storage to rotate with other toys 4. The toys your kid plays with every day you (obviously) keep. We did it tonight after the girls were in bed, and the breakdown really did work out to be pretty equal quarters.
Clutter elimination - so liberating! We'll see how they react in the morning, but I bet they won't even notice.
