Weekend

Trevor and I had a fabulous weekend visiting my friend Sarah, her husband Tyler and their little girl Lily, as well as our dear friends the Kirbys. We had such a great time. We spent Saturday at Bear Lake, and it felt almost like the beach! Blue, clear water, sandy shores...it was wonderful. Trevor and I swam and played in the water, and then spent a few hours basking in the sun. Pictures to follow.

Sarah has two seasons of "The Office," which we watched most of. Trevor commented later that Sarah is the only human being on the planet who could get me to watch a tv show. I never do watch tv because I always feel like it's a waste of time (if I'm spending time watching television, I could be reading a book!) However, "The Office" is like popcorn, totally without substance, tasty, light and entertaining, and you eat much more than you should before you realize you better stop. It is pretty funny, and so horribly awkward, I had to hide my face in shame a few times for Michael.

I also really enjoyed the change in pace. Having a little child around makes you do everything slower - eating, changing, going to bed, cleaning, etc. I loved it. I'm so often exclusively with adults, and feel like I need to be sophisticated, mature, professional, and, well, not really myself. But spending time with Lily this weekend let me have an excuse to be a little goofy, play, giggle, and live a little slower.

This was such a rejuvenating weekend!

  1. I hope that I am in the same category as Lily for you.
Oh, and I'm so glad that you were finally introduced to the office. Even I can handle it and you know how I am about embarrassing situations.
