The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has announced its newest director succeeding Philippe de Montebello: Thomas P. Campbell, an expert in European tapestries (!). He organized the exhibit Tapestry in the Renaissance: Art and Magnificence, which I didn't get to see, but have drooled over the catalogue. I'm really excited that a tapestry expert has become the Director and CEO of America's most important museum.
