We had our first real glimpse at the baby. My dad has an ultrasound machine in his clinic used to find nerves, but it's also pretty good at spotting babies. We got to see it move around by itself, shifting it's little arms and head. I wonder how I can't feel it.
I'm amazed my body knows how to do this. If you asked me how to make a baby, I don't have the slightest idea! And I didn't even have to train my body to do this, learn in a class or a book, my body just seems to know. How? How does it know how to make another being's brain synapses connect, make fingerprints, eyelids, toes?
It's pure magic.
On another happy note, wasn't today glorious? I was moved watching the peaceful shift of power in Washington this morning. That's another amazing thing. I really can't think of any other civilization in history that's been able to do this. Today we saw democracy work.
And I really liked Michelle's dress. Such a cool lady.
And I got my second thesis rough draft in today *phew*, and it was twenty times better than the first.
And Trevor hasn't posted in a long time. I'll work on that for you.
Wow! Great things came in threes for you today! How fun!
