I got home yesterday from a day and half in Surprise, AZ visiting my best friend Sarah and my cousin Brooke, and their little girls Lilly and Hailey. We had a lot of fun. I'm pretty lucky to have had the same best friend throughout the whole of my life, and that she is also friends with my sweet cousin. It was lovely to get away for a little bit and not think about my thesis for a single minute of it. It's also so relaxing to spend time with Sarah, who knows me so well I don't ever have to explain myself.
And it helped pass the time while Trevor was in New York. He comes in tonight at 11:00. That is seriously stinky time for me to be awake and driving to Salt Lake. Oh well.
In other news, we found out today my dog Walter has epilepsy :(. I was in my bedroom answering some student e-mails, and I heard dog paws scrambling against the floor in the music room above my head. I dismissed it for about a minute thinking the dogs must be playing. But then I noticed neither of them were barking. So I went upstairs and found Walter having a full on seizure. It scared me to death. I started screaming for my mom, since, of course, she would know what to do. I was afraid to touch him, thinking he might bite me or it might frighten him more. He stopped really soon after that, and he was okay......anyway, my mom took him to the emergency vet and they tested his blood for kidney or liver problems, which I guess runs in Dalmatians. But his blood checked out fine, so they think he just has epilepsy. The doctor said it is easily treated.
It was actually a really horrible experience for me...I love my Walt, and wow, seeing him like that was scary. Poor pup. I think he shed half his coat.
Oh wow, how scary to have that happen to your dog when Trevor was gone. I'm glad the vet said that epilepsy is easily treated.
ReplyDeleteDid Trevor have a fun time on his trip? I'm glad that he's back home!
