why?

Why do people think we are going to give our twins rhyming names? I can't imagine doing that to them - or to myself! I'm sure I'm going to mix their names up on accident as it is, but if their names were rhyming, oh my word. And they may be twins, but in the end they are two separate people with their own personalities, and I really don't want them to always feel like they are 'one of two.'

I think I'm finally wrapping my head around having two. I can at least visualize it now.

Oh, and have I mentioned my thesis defense is the day after tomorrow? Yep. Spending lots of time today getting ready for that.

  1. Has Andrea been giving you name ideas or something?

Good luck with the defense tomorrow! You'll do great!

  2. Rhyming names and names that work together bug me for twins. Some people like it, but I agree, I would never give that to my children if I were ever to have twins. If I was a twin, I don't think I'd really like it that much. It's enough already to have a last name like Priest, I don't think being a twin with the names Kayla and Shayla, Chloe and Zoe, or names that work (with both genders), for like (ugg this is evil) "West" and "Virginia" (told you, evil!).... I love the names you have picked out. :)

  3. I don't really get into any kind of naming schemes...like names that all start with the same letter for instance. The kids are different so their names should be different too, right?

And good luck on defending your thesis! I'm sure you'll do great!
