Bayeux Tapestry

One of my very favorite works of art ever is the Bayeux Tapestry.* It's the last work of art I'm talking about tomorrow in my lecture, and I like to add a multi-media dimension to class by putting a YouTube video for the students to watch when they're off campus. So, I found this video that, kind of cheesily, animates the Bayeux Tapestry. But I still think its cool, and I think it tells the story in an innovative way.

*Just gotta say here - it's not a tapestry. It's an embroidery. But the name has stuck, and who am I to change it?

  1. That video is fun! I'm guessing that you can get access to YouTube videos on BYU campus now. I'm jealous - I wish I had that resource when I was a teacher (and a procrastinating student)!

  2. I love the Bayeux Tapestry! Instead of writing a memoir when I get old, I've always just planned on getting a huge roll of paper and depicting my life story in the same style as the Bayeux Tapestry.

When Jaime and I took our trip to europe, we made sure to go and see it, and it turned out to be one of our favorite experiences.

    Great video too!
