positive

I am starting to think nothing my body does can surprise me. Say if I were to grow a third eye, I know how the conversation with Dr. Glenn would go:

Dr. Glenn: Any more questions?
Me: Um, yes. I've started growing a third eye, you can see it right below the skin, there. (Point.)
Dr. Glenn: Perfectly normal. Pregnancy hormones sometimes produce too much eye tissue, which can be expressed superficially on the skin.
Me: But, umm...
Dr. Glenn: See you in two weeks - if your water hasn't broken before then!

I've been working on changing my attitude. I'm taking a cue from my friend Megan Baer, and trying to schedule my time to be very full. But still including those hours of bedrest and not too much exertion, or I may start to grow another arm. I have, technically, six arms associated with my body already.

Been writing lots of thank you cards for baby gifts. It got me thinking in the shower this morning of all the thank you cards I would love to write to certain people for things they've done for me and perhaps not even known it. So in an attempt to thank these people, shout some good karma into the cyber void, and not be too cheesy by sending a card, I would like to thank these people here.

Laura: You are such a good cousin. You live so far away but you always read my blog and send supporting messages. It means a lot to me. I hope you come out to Utah for school someday.

Margy: You're a breath of fresh air. I loved spending more time with you the last few weeks. You inspire me to live according to my ideals.

Josh: Your humor made graduate school more survivable, and I love reading your blog and seeing pictures of your adorable daughter. I hope the best for your family!

Holly: I don't get to see you often, but somehow I don't think it makes our friendship any less than it is. You always make me want to be a cooler self, but still keeping my feet on the ground.

Ann: Thanks for being my friend. I think you are so cool. I miss seeing you on a regular basis, but reading your column and your blog give me little dosages of Ann that I need.

Becca: Thank you for marrying into the Williams family. Thank you for marrying Blake. I think you are awesome, and I just realized this morning you will be our children's Aunt. Just never thought about it before like that. Aunt Becca.

Monica: I always appreciate your comments and support, and I love your Art History Blog, it makes me feel like even though my technical education is over, I still have the opportunity and responsibility to continue improving my mind.

Em: I'm sad we've only met once. You've always been three steps ahead of me in life, and I like to learn from your experiences before I have similar ones of my own. Your boys are adorable, and I appreciate your strength in living so far away from family and making a life of your own.

I'm probably going to be staying here in Iowa for a good 4-5 years and get my bachelor's in Music Ed, then I'll probably be heading west to do more in music. I'm glad you guys want me out there! :D
We're thinking about you just about every day here.
    Love ya, take care!

  2. yeah.. those boys.
On a day like today I'm terribly glad you are having twin girls. If they were boys I'd be terrified for you. Boys are different. Boys are an adjustment for me every.single.day.

So glad somebody is learning from my mistakes!

  3. Aw, thanks for the thanks! And you're right, you will still have the chance to improve your mind after graduation. I have made learning a priority in my day-to-day routine (it's the only way I keep sane!). I have no doubt that you will keep learning and improving your mind too, because that's just the kind of person you are!
