rococo

The last lecture went well. The class wasn't as chatty as usual. They are often much more responsive to my questions. But it's near finals, I think everyone's getting burned out. This Thursday I give them their final, and on Friday I will try to finish all my grading and submit it so I'm free and clear if I go into labor. Which feels like will never actually happen. I may never see my ankles again.

I realized this past semester I actually love Rococo art for pure aesthetics. No one can really love the subject matter or the rife aristocratic banality of Rococo art, but just for painting's sake - brushstrokes, color palette, composition, the visual sensibility of it - I like it.
