Americorps CERT requirements

So I work for The Boys and Girls Club of Utah County.  My job is really good with my school schedule and all that.  I get to play with kids and teach them about art, money, healthy choices and other topics. I really have fun with it.  But there is one catch to all of this.  As I am under an Americorps grant which pays me, and where I get great educational benefits, I have to do all these crazy things outside of work to get it all.  I work 20 to 25 hours directly, and an additional 15 to 20 outside indirectly. So I work a lot on top of all the school I do.  I never knew that was what I was signing up for when I started, and they don't really tell you.  I am not complaining too much because I am grateful for what it will do for my resumé, yet I can't believe all the crazy things I have to do, when I am trying to keep up in school. The new thing I got by e-mail was this CERT I have to complete online which is predicted to take 6 to 8 hours all about bomb and terrorist preparedness.  I can't imagine when, nor how I will ever find that useful for my job. EVER!!! If anyone who reads this agrees, I would love to hear your sympathy.
