make...it....to....christmas.....

Today was one of those days. Oh. my. word. I want to not live for a day or two - not go to work, stay in bed, sleep in, eat spinach florentine crepes for all three meals, and watch indulgent movies like "Love Actually" and "Ever After."
It didn't help that my morning started at the doctor's office (second time this week) to do an extremely unpleasant test that not only had to be done once, but twice, with an unfamiliar doctor.
Vern was manic today and it spread through the Museum. Genius can be so helpful, and so not helpful.
Trevor is over-burdened, stressed about homework and his school load, his insane job with troubled kids, a difficult church calling, having insufficient sleep all semester, and some personal trials. It stinks. We just have to make it to Christmas - we're going to San Antonio for week for my brother's wedding (yes - it's official - she has a ring so I'm allowed to blog about it) and I'm really looking forward to that. Not only will we be wedding-preparing, but we'll get to see the Riverwalk and the Alamo and enjoy being out of Utah for a while. So maybe I'll have to be like my friend Em and listen to a little Christmas music to get through the next month...

Oh - and did I mention my thesis isn't done? I have a rough draft due in a month now? What? Oh that's right - I'm a graduate student - I forgot, I spend so much time and effort at the Museum.

Best part of my week has been Ann's most recent column.

  1. You can make it! Just start listening to Christmas music NOW. It will make November fly by. And it will make your thesis pretty much write itself - I'm sure of it!

  2. Ah Shelley. You can make it! San Antonio will be great. It'll be ok. If you need a proof-reader I'd be happy to recommend someone. I know lots of people with English degrees. Hey wait! I have a degree in English! What am I thinking? Seriously though, I love you. Let me know if I can help.
