coming transition

The last three weeks at the Museum have been really great for me. I've enjoyed the work I've been doing, the projects I'm involved in and how things are shaping up. There was a period when I really thought I might lose my mind, but it passed, and the last bit has been really enjoyable. I think it's because I've been able to spearhead the "Buy a Plant, Build the Garden" program.

Nanette here at the Museum said it usually takes four months to get used to a job. So I get to leave right as I'm finally getting the hang of it. But that's okay - this was a good period of my life in which I got to be involved in a lot of worthwhile, cool things like Unbound and the Sculpture Garden.

I really hope the next Stewart Fellow doesn't let the things I've started flounder (especially with the garden!). That would just make me so sad. But I'm going to assume she's bright and competent, and will care as much as I do for the success of the garden.

Oh, AND, my Prof. wants another draft of my thesis by mid January. Yikes. That means I need to be working on it right now. And that's really hard with this job which doesn't end until Christmas Eve, my brother and my brother-in-law's weddings, Christmas and our upcoming trip to Texas. I'm just going to assume I'll have more time the first two weeks in January...........
