cribtastic

Yesterday I was feeling depressed, and I know about 84% of it was due to hormones, 16% due to Monsieur Winter. I had to remember why all these hormones are clogging my brain, and remember I'm not just getting too chunky for all my clothes, but that a new human being will be the marvelous result of the mayhem. So, I went shopping for cribs, trying to imagine a sleeping baby in them.

After keeping my eye on the DI circuit for two months, and a craigslist watcher, I decided in the end I just wanted a new crib. Because: A. Every single one looked as if it'd been through ten kids already B. Hopefully we will need a crib more than once C. You just don't know what kind of karma would come with a used crib.

I wish there was some sort of independent for baby items - a King's English of babydom. But there just aren't in the Springville/Provo/Orem area. So I went to RC Willey, JC Penny, Sears and Babies R Us. I found the exact crib I wanted at the last mega-mess. Simple, didn't look like an entertainment system (which seems to be the hideous, huge style nowadays!), sturdy, and a classic design I wouldn't get sick of.

Of course I wanted Trevor to see it, and this morning we made a crib trek. I told him to look through all the cribs on the floor and tell me which one he liked best. It was the exact same one! A sign! He said, a true Trevism, "It has good surface area to paint right here" (because I have ideas of Trev painting two small images on the crib).

Sign numero dos: last night we miraculously had the exact amount of money we needed to pay for it from an unexpected source. Huzzah!

So now it's ours, the "Martine Natural Sleigh Crib."
