Dr. Glenn said he would be really surprised if I made it to 36 weeks without going into labor. 36 weeks is between June 22 - 27, and I would not be allowed to go any further than July 2nd. Unless the babies shift position, which is entirely possible, I'm in for a C-Section. But both babies are looking great - good heartbeats, good development, and I'm in good health. Uterus is now officially larger than full term size. It's only been the last two days that I've been intensely uncomfortable for about 70% of the day, so I take that as a good sign that if I'm ever pregnant with just one baby, I know I can make it to full term size and be moderately comfortable.
He also said he might put me on bedrest. But we're not going to think or talk about that. I have contractions whenever I do anything remotely resembling exercise - meaning, walking for more than five minute stretches or picking anything up that weighs more than five pounds. They don't hurt, but I have to stop whatever I'm doing and breathe.
I had a strange urge to finish this post with Garrison Keillor's signature close to his radio program: "That's the news from Lake Wobegon, my home town, where all the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." I heard his Lake Wobegon stories every single week growing up on NPR. We still listen, occasionally. I think his voice is the most soothing, comforting voice. Anyway.
ahh I love that I know what you're talking about in that past paragraph. :)
